1. Who We Are
Hotmax fuel logs are manufactured and sold by Bedmax Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 03796823, with registered office at Bedmax Ltd, Detchant, Belford, Northumberland, England, NE70 7PF.
These terms apply to all orders placed with us for the supply of Hotmax fuel log products (“Products”) to consumers in the United Kingdom.
2. Placing an Order
When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy the Products. We will send an order confirmation by email; this confirms we’ve received your order but does not mean we’ve accepted it. A contract is formed only when we confirm dispatch of your order.
We may decline or cancel an order at our discretion – for example where a Product is out of stock, there’s a pricing error, or a promotional offer has reached its order limit or closing date – in which case you will receive a full refund of any amount already paid.
3. Price, Payment and VAT
- All prices are shown in GBP (£) and, unless stated otherwise, include VAT.
- Hotmax fuel logs qualify for the UK’s reduced rate of VAT (5%) when supplied for domestic use, in line with HMRC rules on solid fuel for home heating.
- Delivery charges are additional and shown separately at checkout.
- Payment is taken in full at the time of order via Stripe.
4. Promotional Offers
From time to time we run promotional offers on Hotmax products (for example, seasonal pallet offers). Each offer is subject to its own specific terms – such as eligible delivery areas, order limits per customer, and closing dates – which will be clearly stated wherever the offer is advertised. These offer-specific terms apply in addition to, and take precedence over, any conflicting general terms in this document.
5. Delivery
Delivery is carried out in line with our separate Delivery Information page, which forms part of these terms. Estimated delivery times are not guaranteed and may vary due to courier network, weather, or access issues.
Risk in the Products passes to you once they are delivered to the agreed delivery address. Ownership passes once we have received payment in full.
6. Your Right to Cancel
As a consumer buying at a distance (online/phone), you have a legal right to cancel your order under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, without giving a reason, within 14 days of delivery.
To cancel, contact us before the 14-day period ends. You are responsible for the cost and arrangement of returning bulky/palletised goods unless we agree otherwise or the Products are faulty. See our Returns Policy for the full process.
This right does not apply once a bag has been opened and the logs used, in line with the exceptions for goods that cannot be resold once unsealed.
7. Faulty or Misdescribed Products
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If a Product is faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund. See our Returns Policy for details.
8. Product Information and Safe Use
Woodsure accredited, Hotmax fuel logs are made from 100% natural, recycled softwood dust and wood particles, compacted with no added chemicals. As with any solid fuel product, logs should be stored in a dry place and burned only in an appliance suitable for wood fuel, following the appliance manufacturer’s instructions. Natural variation between production batches is normal and is not considered a defect.
9. Our Liability
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our negligence, but we are not liable for losses that are not foreseeable, business losses (if you are using the Products for a business purpose), or losses caused by misuse, incorrect storage, or use in an unsuitable appliance.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law.
10. Complaints
If you’re unhappy with your order or our service, please contact us and we’ll do our best to put things right.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one in place at the time you placed it.
