Live demonstrations by Society of Equestrian Artists members add a creative dimension to Scone Palace International Horse Trials
Bedmax, the Official Bedding Partner of Scone Palace International Horse Trials, is delighted to welcome the return of live equestrian art demonstrations to its stand when the event takes place from 27th to 30th August 2026. Following the success of last year’s collaboration, visitors will once again have the opportunity to watch talented members of the Society of Equestrian Artists (SEA) at work throughout the four-day event.
This year’s artists will be Anthea Wood, acclaimed equestrian artist and Chair of the Society of Equestrian Artists, alongside Jan Perkins, an internationally recognised American equestrian artist whose work has been exhibited across the United States and Europe.
Throughout the event, Anthea and Jan will paint live on the Bedmax stand, offering visitors a unique insight into their creative process while capturing the beauty, character and athleticism of the horse. Guests will be able to chat with both artists, learn more about their inspiration and techniques, and watch original works come to life before their eyes.
The collaboration reflects the shared values of Bedmax and the Society of Equestrian Artists – a passion for horses, a commitment to excellence, and celebrating the special relationship between horse and rider both in and out of the stable.
Anthea Wood, Chair of the Society of Equestrian Artists, said, “We’re delighted to return to Scone with Bedmax following such a positive response last year. Demonstrating our work live gives people the chance to see how a painting develops from the first brushstroke, while also creating opportunities to talk about the horses that inspire us. We’re especially excited to welcome Jan Perkins from the USA to join us this year, making the collaboration even more special.”
Alongside the live art demonstrations, visitors can also learn more about Bedmax’s purpose-made pine shavings, trusted by professional riders and event organisers alike for their low dust levels, natural antibacterial properties, moisture control and BETA NOPS accreditation. As the Official Bedding Partner, Bedmax will once again be providing premium bedding for horses stabled throughout the event.
Matthew Taylor, Assistant Event Director at Scone Palace International Horse Trials, said,
“We’re delighted to see the Society of Equestrian Artists returning to Scone alongside Bedmax. The live demonstrations were a real highlight for many visitors last year, adding another dimension to the event and celebrating the horse in a unique and creative way.
“Scone Palace International Horse Trials has always been about bringing together world-class sport with a memorable visitor experience, and this collaboration perfectly reflects that ambition. We’re looking forward to welcoming Anthea, Jan and everyone visiting the Bedmax stand this August.”
Visitors are invited to call in at the Bedmax stand throughout the event to meet the artists, watch live demonstrations and discover how a shared passion for horses can inspire both exceptional horse care and exceptional art.
