'Gold Medal' Growth Wins BEDMAX
The 2012 BETA Export Award
BEDMAX shavings are the very proud winners of the 2012 BETA UKTI Export Award.
The Export Award is given annually by the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) to recognise a substantial and sustained increase in export activity over a period of at least three years. “Bedmax was one company which – in the Olympic year – shouted ‘gold medal’,” explained one judge. “They have demonstrated a model approach to international business, excellent use of support services and a realistic but ambitious attitude to marketing what is clearly a terrific product."
BEDMAX has b
een exporting top quality, dust free, purpose made pine shavings for many years, and now sends the highly recognisable yellow BEDMAX bags to customers as far afield as Iceland and Hong Kong, Germany, France, Ireland, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic, the Middle East, Barbados and, most recently, Mauritius."We are delighted to win the award," said BEDMAX MD Tim Smalley, pictured with the award on the BEDMAX stand at BETA International. "Over the past twelve years we have established BEDMAX as a leading brand in the UK, and now a growing number of horse owners abroad are discovering what makes our shavings so popular here. We're very happy to be helping to keep the UK at the forefront of international equestrian product development, but I would also like to thank our representatives in Germany, France and the Netherlands, and in the Middle East, who are doing such a good job of establishing BEDMAX in their own equine markets."
The Export Award was presented to BEDMAX Northern Sales Manager, Peter Forster, by BETA President Jane Holderness-Roddam CBE, LVO, at the British Equestrian Trade Association’s Gala Dinner on 19 February. “The BETA Business Awards are eagerly anticipated by all sectors of the equestrian industry,” said BETA executive director Claire Williams. “They are surrounded by a strong spirit of competition and a keen desire to win. The standards of achievement, professionalism and enterprise have been extremely high and I would like to congratulate all the winners and everyone who made it through to the finals.”
